I’ve been playing with Telex for a week now. It’s a new AI tool by Automattic that lets you create various interactive, animated, or logic blocks for your website. It’s an experiment, but it can already do lots of interesting and useful things.
As a designer, I always wanted simple functionalities to use on the websites I made. And I always needed to hire a developer to help. Now, with Telex, you can create those minimal interactions just by chatting with it.
Here are a few playful examples that you can download (continue customizing) or simply explore to learn what’s possible with Telex.
1. Sticky notes
A block that lets anyone add reviews or memories. Along with input fields for name, note, and image, it also offers different fonts to choose from. The block also allows for dragging, or closing of any note.

2. Emoji trail button
Simple emojis follow the mouse cursor, and when you hover over the button, the emojis drop to the floor.

3. Interactive icons
In this block, you can adjust the background or icon/effect color and size, and even swap in different Material icons. You can also fine-tune the dither complexity, from subtle to bold. Ideal for interesting footers.

4. Space dots

5. Bloom
Blooming flower(s) on hover trigger. Block features aesthetical attempt to make nice hover motion that could be logic for different shapes. Still not editable, more tests to come.

6. Red or blue pill?
Featuring simple pill selection as an intro to your website. Block is size-adjustable. Background color is editable too. Several font options.
