Every Sunday we get up early. It’s a day for God and our loved ones.

The ultimate task of the day is joy. We find it through gathering with dear people and family. Over lunch, dinner, coffee, or even just a walk.

Although we do enjoy sitting together, it’s often with a glass of rakija, the Serbian signature drink, while listening to the elder men tell local stories. Their tales are nothing short of epic—marvels you might read in a book or watch on Netflix. Sometimes a bit exaggerated, yes, but their storytelling skills are something the entire scene of writing and branding world would envy.

They lived life in ways we, with technology at our fingertips, may never experience again. And every week, they remind me how important it is to truly experience life with other people (em dash) in order to be a good husband, a better designer, and above all, a better human.
