My first camera (in Paris)

Although I was never a photographer, I worked in a wedding photo studio during high school. I assisted the main photographer by handling soft boxes, bags, and helping couples feel at ease during shoots. I also helped with editing and arranging photos in albums, but I rarely took photos myself and never truly felt that was a thing for me.

Fast forward to today—I bought my first camera. For over six months, I considered various options to take macro photos, mostly portraits of my loved ones and print tests of my work. I was initially drawn to Fuji because of their simulation filters, but a dear friend told me he was selling his Canon R6. I chose it because of the great price and the trust of knowing its history. Since I needed a small first lens to test the camera on a trip to Paris just two days later, I went with the RF 35mm.

I have no real photography knowledge. I just watched a few tutorials and went on the trip simply to shoot and see what would come out of it.

Below are a few of my first shots with a real camera, zero edits. Selected out of 600+ shots taken.

Low-angle view of an ornate archway featuring intricate carvings and columns, with the sign 'PAVILLON DENON' visible at the top.
A woman with long hair stands in front of colorful illuminated decorations and trees, with her eyes closed, exuding a serene expression.
Architectural details of a carved stone archway with intricate floral motifs, looking out towards a cloudy sky and a distant building.
A nighttime view of an ornate building with a large domed roof, illuminated by street lamps. The sky is a deep blue, adding to the tranquil atmosphere.
A woman with long dark hair stands in a beautifully lit architectural space, featuring tall columns and a warm glow from an overhead light fixture.
A nighttime shot of a building illuminated warmly in the background, framed by a tree trunk in the foreground, with people walking along a pathway.
Facade of a historic cathedral featuring intricate stone carvings and large stained glass windows.
Silhouette of people walking through an archway towards the Louvre's glass pyramid structure under a cloudy sky.
Close-up of intricate stone carvings on a historic building entrance, featuring figures of saints and decorative motifs.
A statue standing in front of a tall, lit building at night, with soft lighting highlighting its features.

These are my first photography shots ever taken, if I disregard playing with film cameras as a kid and smartphone.

I’ll continue playing with the lovely Canon R6. More to come.
