Almost two months since my last blog post. I started this blog recently with the aim of posting at least once per week. That fell through the cracks. What did I do in the meantime?
Lots of interesting work at Automattic, some side work, and holidays, of course.
I am working on several side projects as part of the 2026 plans I have.
Book
I wrote a book. A few more details and logistics until it’s published. The book is about the very first steps for new designers. It helps provide a wider context or framework through which they can approach the design world. No tools, no classical coaching—just practical steps that are the result of a simple framework I used to mentor a few designers. Soon.

Office
I have a small office in my apartment of 7 square meters, and I need it to house a lot of things yet still look great on camera. I also need it to have a corner for recording prints and videos. Prints yes, I need a place for a big printer too.
Since I struggled to make this work and look great, in early January I asked my friends from Naos studio to help me envision this room in a way that could cover all these different needs.
Photography
As I wait for the office to be done and to buy the printer, I bought some equipment that will help me practice studio photography. Mostly for macro objects and prints.
- Godox LA150Bi led light
- Peak Design Everyday, sling 6L (as I need a bag for my camera too)
- Godox 240f light stand
- Godox SB-FW80120 softbox with grid
- Coman FF16LS tripod
- DJI MIC3, set of two
Looking forward to play with new gear, as I try to do so many little things out of a 7sq meter room.
On future
That was all January. Beyond, after launching the book, I hope to continue my work on a project I recently mentioned here. It’s the other side project I aim to launch in 2026, and I hope to write soon more about it.
What are you up to in the past few weeks? Write a blog post about it.
